Thomson Reuters is a Canadian information company created in 2008 when the Thomson Corporation acquired the British news and data group Reuters, and it now sells research, workflow software and analytics rather than raw information. Its largest businesses serve law firms and corporate counsel through Westlaw and Practical Law, tax and accounting professionals through Checkpoint and ONESOURCE, and corporate risk and compliance teams through screening and investigation products, alongside the Reuters news agency. Headquartered in Toronto and listed in Toronto and New York, it has invested heavily in generative assistants embedded directly in those professional workflows.

Job Description

We are seeking a Manager, Product Management to lead the product strategy and execution for a portfolio focused on tax, accounting, and business software solutions in Chile. This role will be responsible for driving product initiatives with a strong customer-centric mindset, balancing business impact with a clear value proposition for clients.

The ideal candidate will bring proven experience leading product teams, influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and working closely with technology and commercial partners. This person should be capable of understanding legacy product environments while helping drive modernization efforts, including cloud migration, agile ways of working, and the exploration of AI-enabled product opportunities.

This position requires a professional who is direct, collaborative, and execution-oriented, with the seniority to challenge ideas constructively and align teams toward results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the product management function for assigned products and initiatives.
  • Manage and coach product team members, providing leadership, direction, and support.
  • Define and evolve product strategy with a strong focus on customer needs, value proposition, and business impact.
  • Partner closely with technology, commercial, and other business stakeholders to prioritize product initiatives and align execution.
  • Influence peers and cross-functional partners to drive decisions and outcomes in a collaborative but decisive manner.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and modernize products, including migration from legacy/on-premise solutions to more modern cloud-based environments.
  • Contribute to the development of MVPs, proof of concepts, and fast-win initiatives that generate measurable impact.
  • Ensure product decisions are grounded in market needs, customer insight, and long-term product value, not only short-term revenue objectives.
  • Apply agile methodologies and frameworks to support product development and delivery.
  • Act as a key point of contact between product and technology teams, with the ability to understand technical discussions and contribute meaningfully to product innovation.
  • Support the evaluation and potential adoption of emerging technologies, including practical AI use cases within products.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Product Management, including experience in a people leadership/managerial role with direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across product, technology, and commercial areas.
  • Strong customer-centric mindset, with the ability to connect product decisions to user needs and overall value proposition.
  • Experience working with agile methodologies and product development frameworks.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to be direct, executive, and solution-oriented.
  • Ability to operate effectively in environments with legacy technologies while helping teams evolve toward modern product practices.
  • Fluent or strong working proficiency in English, as the role requires communication with regional stakeholders.
  • Must be based in Santiago.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in companies related to tax, accounting, financial, or business software solutions.
  • Experience leading or contributing to product modernization efforts, especially migrations from:
    • legacy technologies,
    • on-premise/client-server solutions,
    • SQL-based environments,
    • toward cloud-based products.
  • Experience building or launching MVPs, pilots, or proof-of-concept initiatives in short timelines.
  • Exposure to or hands-on experience with Artificial Intelligence use cases in product development.
  • Agile-related certifications such as Scrum, Agile Coach, or similar.
  • Experience working in consultative, software, or technology-driven environments with strong product and innovation practices.
  • Ability to bring a balanced perspective between business growth goals and long-term customer value creation.
  • Experience in regulated or specialized industries is a plus, though strong product leadership and modern product thinking are prioritized over deep accounting expertise alone.
