Something doesn't feel quite right .... Ticketek's website is up and running, but it looks as though our system has picked up on some unusual activity from your current visit. It's temporarily keeping you from accessing our site.

Ticketek Entertainment Group (TEG) is a Live Experience Group that helps people discover, access and experience the unforgettable. We believe Life is better live®.

With over 50 years in live entertainment, we sell more than 30 million tickets annually, connect with 30 million fans across Australia and New Zealand, and bring 18,000+ events to life each year. Headquartered in Sydney, we operate globally across eight pillars: Ticketing, Live Touring, Sport, Immersive Experiences, Customer & Data Solutions, Venues, VIP Experiences and Partnerships. Through our integrated operating model, we bring the best live content, ticketing and technology to our partners and create unforgettable memories that last a lifetime

Our values guide everything we do: we partner with purpose, empower boldness within clear boundaries, and celebrate human connection - always putting the fan first.

The Role

As Senior Business Development Manager, you will establish and lead TEG's ticketing business in Malaysia. The role combines full commercial responsibility for developing new business with accountability for the success of the events you win, drawing on our Singapore and Sydney teams to deliver them. As TEG's senior representative in the market, you will report directly to the General Manager, Ticketing Asia.

Requirements

Outcomes to deliver:

Business Development

  • Lead our market development across Malaysia, building relationships with promoters, venues and content partners, primarily in Kuala Lumpur.
  • Establish Ticketek as the partner of choice in a promoter-led market, building on the recognition TicketCharge has established.
  • Build the commercial pipeline and secure events across promoters and venues, turning first deals into lasting partnerships.
  • Own the commercial relationship end to end: pricing, feasibility, negotiation and contracting.
  • Work with TEG's global touring and content businesses to bring international content to Malaysian audiences, across music, sports and family entertainment.

Market Leadership

  • Represent TEG in Malaysia as the senior point of contact for clients, venues, partners and industry bodies.
  • Own the success of the events you win, working with our Singapore and Sydney teams on on-sale readiness, client servicing and issue resolution.
  • Work with our Finance, Technology and People teams to keep the Malaysian business running on solid foundations.
  • Shape the market plan for Malaysia alongside the General Manager for Asia.
  • Build and lead a local team as the business grows.

Capabilities to bring

You'll be a strong fit for this role if you bring:

  • 8-10 years experience or more in live events, entertainment or ticketing, with substantial time in business development or commercial roles.
  • Strong existing relationships with Malaysian promoters, venues and content partners, and the standing to open doors from day one.
  • A track record of winning new business and holding on to it.
  • Experience overseeing operational delivery. You will be as comfortable managing an on-sale as you are negotiating a contract.
  • The confidence to work independently, and the instinct to stay hands-on.
  • Sound commercial judgement, including the discipline to structure deals that work for both sides over the long term.
  • Credibility at senior level, and ease representing a global business to promoters, venues and government stakeholders.

Benefits

We’re Australasia’s home of live entertainment - from stadium tours to your local comedy show - and we look after the people who make it happen.

  • Front row perks: Front row and backstage access to live moments - free and discounted tickets to shows, sport and festivals across our network, plus presales and staff allocations for major on-sales
  • A global stage: Headquartered in Sydney with offices across seven countries and four continents, working alongside some of the biggest names in Australian and international live entertainment
  • Flexibility: Hybrid and flexible working, with flexible hours where your role allows
  • Parental leave for everyone: Paid leave for primary caregivers regardless of gender, with real support returning to work
  • Leave, your way: Annual leave plus extras like birthday leave and purchase leave
  • Your backstage crew: Confidential support via our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), including career coaching for you and your family, plus free flu vaccinations
  • Giving back: One paid volunteer day a year to support our community
  • Your next act: Structured development programs like Ticketek Academy, secondments to major events, and career paths tailored to your interests and skills
  • Recognition that means something: ALL STAR Awards and service milestones, celebrating the people and teams who bring our values to life every day
