We're hiring a Principal Backend Architect for a fast-growing, AI-first product startup building next-generation intelligent automation platforms. We're looking for a hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex system design challenges, can take end-to-end ownership of backend architecture, and thrives in a high-growth startup environment. You'll work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping the company's technical direction.

Responsibilities:

Design and own scalable, secure, and high-performance backend architectures.
Build distributed systems, microservices, and APIs powering AI-driven products.
Drive technical decisions around cloud infrastructure, databases, and system reliability.
Collaborate with product and AI teams to deliver robust backend solutions.
Mentor engineers and establish engineering best practices and architecture standards.

Requirements:

6+ years of backend engineering experience.
Strong expertise in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js .
Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architecture.
Experience with AWS and databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, or DynamoDB.
Strong knowledge of performance optimization, caching, observability, and system reliability.

Good to Have:

Experience with AI/LLM applications, AI agents, or automation platforms.
Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
Prior experience working in fast-paced product startups.
