Our Client, a company in the Crop Science and Seed Processing industry is looking to hire a motivated and enthusiastic Logistics Specialist-Exports & Imports to join there team. The Logistics Specialist supports the Logistics Coordinator in the planning, execution, and monitoring of transportation, import/export, warehousing, and inventory activities. The role ensures the timely movement of goods, accurate documentation, compliance with company procedures, and effective coordination with transporters, clearing agents, suppliers, and other internal & external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Operations
- Assist in Stagging of Shipments
- Assist in booking and scheduling transport
- Assist in monitoring and tracking of shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Support loading and dispatch activities and verify shipment quantities and documentation.
- Assist in coordinating with transporters, clearing agents, and warehouse teams regarding shipment status.
- Assist in maintaining transporters’ invoices and shipment records.
Import and Export Support
- Assist with preparation and processing of import and export documentation.
- Follow up on customs clearance activities and permit applications.
- Support communication with regulatory authorities and clearing agents.
- Monitor shipment progress and escalate delays where necessary.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate logistics records, filing systems, and shipment reports.
- Ensure all transport and shipping documents are complete and properly archived.
- Assist with proof of delivery (POD) collection, verification & filing.
- Support compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Inventory and Warehouse Coordination
- Support inventory reconciliation and stock movement tracking.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure accurate receipt and dispatch of goods.
- Assist with cycle counts and stock verification activities.
- Report inventory discrepancies to the Logistics Coordinator.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 1 Year Internship experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of import/export procedures is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with ERP systems (PASTEL Sage Evolution preferred) is an added advantage.
- Membership with Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS)
