Accountant

Our client, a well established iGaming company, is seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team in Sliema.

The Accountant is responsible for managing the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and supporting the Managing Director with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Tasks

• Perform day-to-day accounting duties, including processing supplier invoices and preparing supplier payments for approval.
• Perform month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling bank, supplier, and customer accounts, and ensuring accurate financial records.
• Maintain and administer the accounting system, ensuring accurate financial records, up-to-date master data, and timely financial reporting.
• Monthly preparation of the Management accounts including the balance sheet and the income statement and other reports
• Prepare and review VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory filings as required.
• Process and oversee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments, statutory deductions, and compliance with employment and tax legislation.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with treasury and working capital management.
• Manage the annual external audit process by coordinating audit schedules, preparing supporting documentation, responding to auditor queries, and ensuring timely completion of audit requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and financial procedures.
• Any other task as required by the Managing Director.

Requirements

• Must be a Qualified Accountant, or in the last stage of obtaining ACCA.
• 3-5 years of work experience in a similar role.
• Experience in Client accounting as well as internal accounting, ideally within iGaming field.
• Strong English writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce documents that are clear and concise.
• Strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be a self-starter, solutions-oriented, comfortable working with minimal oversight and taking on new tasks on-demand/as needed.
