Job Overview

The Electrical Engineer shall be responsible for complete electrical engineering activities related to design, engineering and review of electrical substations. The role requires in-depth technical expertise in sub-station design, electrical calculations, control and protection systems, switchgear, transmission lines, and power system engineering. The incumbent shall also be responsible for preparation and review of Guaranteed Technical Particulars (GTPs), vendor evaluations, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• The Electrical Engineer shall carry out detailed engineering and design of electrical substations up to 765 kV, including indoor and outdoor AIS/GIS substations.
• Responsibilities include preparation and review of single line diagrams, sub-station layouts, bay arrangements, equipment general arrangement drawings, control room layouts, earthing systems, cable routing.
• performing complete electrical calculations such as equipment sizing, transformer sizing, short-circuit calculations, protection system, cable sizing, earthing system design, illumination calculations, and battery and charger sizing.
• The Electrical Engineer shall develop and finalize control and protection schemes for substations, interlocks, and metering schemes. The role involves detailed review of control and protection panels, relay panels, bay control units, and associated wiring and interconnections.
• The incumbent shall possess strong knowledge of power system engineering, including switchgears, circuit breakers, isolators, power transformers, instrument transformers (CTs and PTs), transmission lines, bays, and sub-station auxiliaries.

Required Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma/bachelor’s degree in electrical.
• Minimum 10 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical symbols, standards, and drawing practices
• Knowledge of MicroStation, EPLAN, or similar tools (added advantage)
• Ability to follow layer management, title blocks, and revision control
