Programme Manager (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

We're looking for an experienced Programme Manager to own the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale, multi-workstream digital customer-experience transformation for a major Australian retail group.

This isn't single-team project management - it's orchestration at scale. The programme spans a multi-brand eCommerce re-platform, order management and customer service, a native mobile app, and an extensive integration, martech and loyalty layer, delivered across onshore and offshore pods and multiple third parties.

You'll sit within a three-part programme leadership team, owning the plan and the commercials, while partnering closely with a Programme Architect (technical direction) and an Client Principal (executive relationship).

This role is for a fixed-term basis for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

What You'll Own

Programme Delivery & Planning

• The integrated programme plan across all workstreams - scope, milestones, critical path, sequencing and interdependencies
• Orchestration of parallel workstreams so they mobilise, build, integrate and release in step
• Release, environment, cutover and go-live planning across brands and platforms
• Scaled hybrid (agile + waterfall) delivery across onshore and offshore teams and multiple vendors

Commercial & Contract Management

• Programme budget, forecast, margin, revenue recognition and milestone-based invoicing
• Change control across scope, SOWs and change requests
• Input into opportunity development for programme extensions and new phases

Governance, Risk & Assurance

• Programme governance - boards, steering committees, PMO, status reporting and decision logs
• RAID management across all workstreams, resolving cross-workstream dependencies before they block delivery
• Delivery quality through milestone quality gates and stage reviews

Resource & Team Leadership

• Delivery leadership across workstream/project managers, delivery leads and PMO
• Resourcing, capacity and utilisation forecasting across onshore and offshore pods
• Coaching and developing project and workstream managers

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Delivery relationships with client stakeholders, platform vendors and the broader martech/loyalty ecosystem
• Alignment across internal teams, client-side stakeholders and third parties

Requirements

• 10+ years in programme/project management, including end-to-end ownership of large-scale, multi-workstream digital commerce or CX transformations (multi-million-dollar, multi-year, multi-vendor)
• A track record delivering enterprise programmes on modern commerce and CX platforms, with complex API-led integration, identity, customer-data and loyalty ecosystems
• Proven commercial ownership of programme P&L and margin - forecasting, revenue recognition, change control and SOW/contract management
• Deep experience running scaled hybrid (agile + waterfall) delivery across onshore and offshore teams and multiple third parties
• Strong governance discipline - programme boards, steering committees, RAID, benefits realisation and executive-grade reporting
• Fluency with enterprise delivery toolsets (MS Project / Smartsheet / Jira / Confluence)
• The presence to hold a large, complex, multi-workstream programme together - decisive, calm under pressure, and relentlessly outcome-driven
• A collaborative style that works cleanly alongside a Programme Architect and Client Principal an without blurring accountabilities
