AU Assistant Accountant (Payroll & HR Administration) | Onsite/Dayshift

The Assistant Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, finance administration, bookkeeping support, and employee records management. This role supports payroll compliance, reconciliations, reporting, and HR administration while maintaining accurate records and audit trails.

Key Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll through QuickBooks Online in line with the Banking, Finance and Insurance Award.
• Coordinate timesheets, attendance records, leave balances, and absenteeism reporting.
• Calculate superannuation, payroll tax, and complete payroll reconciliations.
• Prepare payroll, accounting, audit, BAS, and PAYG support schedules for review.
• Maintain accurate records, audit trails, and data across payroll and finance systems.
• Support bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and transaction reviews.
• Administer onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and HR documentation.
• Maintain personnel files, leave registers, and employment documentation.
• Escalate employee relations and performance matters as required.
• Perform other duties relevant to the role.

Requirements

Essential

• 5+ years' experience in payroll, accounting support, or a similar role.
• Experience processing Australian payroll, superannuation, payroll tax, and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of Australian bookkeeping and accounting practices.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Experience managing timesheets, leave balances, and employee records.
• Strong organisational, communication, and confidentiality skills.
• Must be willing to work onsite. Our Office is in Ortigas.

Highly Regarded

• Experience preparing BAS and PAYG supporting documents.
• QuickBooks Online experience.
• Exposure to onboarding, offboarding, and HR administration.
