Financial Software Implementation Consultant

We are seeking an Financial Software Implementation Consultant who is ready to apply their financial expertise in a new way: helping clients successfully adopt, configure, and optimise financial software. This role is ideal for accountants, finance professionals, controllers, or advisory professionals who understand accounting processes and are looking to transition into a client-facing implementation consulting career.

As a Financial Software Implementation Consultant, you will initially receive structured training on the relevant software platforms, implementation methodology, and client delivery standards. Once this training and the required competency milestones have been completed, you will be expected to perform the full duties of an ERP Consultant: independently owning assigned implementations, configuring solutions, managing project tasks and deadlines, leading client training, supporting go-live, and contributing to ongoing client success. Throughout the role, you will use your accounting knowledge to translate client finance requirements into practical software solutions that improve reporting, efficiency, controls, and decision-making.

This position will report to the Team Manager(s), ERP. This position can be located in either our office in Cape Town, Durban, or the ability to work remotely in the Gauteng province with ability to travel to the Cape Town office as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Global Support

This role operates within a global framework requiring availability to support teams and meet deadlines across different time zones with international partners.

· May participate in industry conferences and global networking groups to drive business growth. Focus on expanding services and identifying market opportunities that align with evolving client needs, ensuring both regional and international relevance.

Software Training, Learning & Enablement

· Complete structured onboarding and training on financial software platforms, implementation methodology, and client delivery standards.

· Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of Sage Intacct, Sage 300 Cloud, and related financial technology tools

· Stay current with product updates, industry trends, accounting best practices, and emerging technologies that improve financial operations.

· Apply continuous learning to strengthen implementation quality, client training, and solution recommendations.

Client Implementation & Delivery

· During initial training, support end-to-end financial software implementations, including discovery, requirements gathering, configuration, testing, training, and go-live support.

· Once trained and assessed as competent, independently own the project lifecycle for assigned ERP implementations, including planning, configuration, testing, training, go-live, deliverables, deadlines, and post-implementation support.

· Use accounting and financial process knowledge to understand client requirements and translate them into system setup, solution design, and workflow recommendations.

· Configure Sage Intacct, Sage 300 Cloud, and related solutions, including entities, chart of accounts, dimensions, reporting structures, workflows, approvals, and financial processes; escalate complex design matters where appropriate.

· Conduct testing, troubleshooting, system validation, and issue resolution to confirm accurate setup, functionality, accounting treatment, reporting, and operational performance.

· Lead client training sessions and prepare client-facing documentation, process guidance, and handover materials that support adoption and effective system use.

Financial Advisory & Process Improvement

· Guide clients on practical improvements to accounting workflows, financial reporting, reconciliations, approvals, internal controls, and month-end processes.

· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, standardisation, and better use of financial systems.

· Support clients in aligning software functionality with their finance team’s operating model, reporting needs, and compliance requirements.

· Provide recommendations that draw on accounting experience, financial analysis, and an understanding of client business objectives.

Client Engagement & Support

· Build trusted client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and a strong service mindset.

· Lead or support client training sessions to help finance users understand and confidently use the software.

· Respond to client questions during implementations and support issue resolution in collaboration with senior consultants and internal teams.

· Communicate project progress, risks, blockers, and next steps clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.

Project Tracking & Accountability

· Track all assigned implementation tasks, deliverables, deadlines, risks, and blockers in the team’s system of record, maintaining clear visibility of progress.

· Proactively communicate project status, dependencies, risks, and next steps to clients and internal stakeholders.

· Identify and flag scope changes early, assess delivery impact, and provide recommendations for resolution or escalation.

· Meet agreed project deadlines, billable utilisation expectations, quality standards, and client satisfaction targets.

· Take accountability for the accuracy and completeness of assigned deliverables and follow issues through to resolution.

· Contribute to project documentation, lessons learned, reusable assets, and implementation best practices.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

· Work closely with senior consultants, project leads, team managers, support teams, sales, finance, and client accounting teams to deliver successful outcomes.

· Participate in internal training, team knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Support cross-functional alignment between client requirements, solution design, project scope, and delivery expectations.

· Contribute to a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional, Commercial & Global Contribution

· Operate within a global delivery framework and, where required, support teams, clients, and deadlines across different time zones.

· Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Support, account management, and delivery teams to align solution design and project deliverables with agreed scope and client expectations.

· Identify opportunities for process improvement, client value, service expansion, and appropriate upselling, and refer these opportunities to the relevant commercial team.

· Provide technical and functional assistance across teams where needed to support smooth service delivery and client retention.

· Support the prompt resolution of client concerns and escalations, involving the Team Manager where required.

· Participate in internal improvement, innovation, and change initiatives, including adoption of new tools, technologies, processes, and service offerings.

· Where appropriate, contribute to industry events, partner engagement, and knowledge-sharing activities that strengthen TydeCo’s market relevance and delivery capability.

Requirements

Qualifications

· 3+ years of accounting, finance, outsourced accounting, advisory, audit, controller, or financial operations experience.

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.

· Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, internal controls, and business processes.

· Interest in moving into a financial technology, ERP, or software implementation consulting career.

· Comfortable learning new systems and using technology to solve finance and reporting challenges.

· Strong communication, documentation, and client service skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a remote or hybrid environment.

Preferred Experience

· Experience with Sage Intacct, Sage 300 Cloud, QuickBooks Online, Xero, FloQast, or similar financial systems.

· Exposure to ERP implementations, financial technology projects, system onboarding, or software training.

· Experience in outsourced accounting, client accounting advisory services, SaaS, professional services, or financial consulting.

· Experience working with multi-entity, multi-currency, or multi-client accounting environments.

· Familiarity with project tracking tools such as Asana, Monday.com, or similar task management systems.
