The Project Scheduler will support the development, maintenance, and analysis of project and program schedules for FusionDirect. This is an early-career project controls role designed for someone who wants to build strong scheduling capability while working alongside an experienced Lead Master Scheduler.

You will help collect progress updates, maintain schedule data, check logic and milestones, prepare reports, and coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, manufacturing, and program teams. Over time, you will take ownership of assigned schedules and work packages, with coaching in Critical Path Method (CPM), Primavera P6, schedule governance, and owner-side EPC/EPCM integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule development and maintenance: Support the creation and maintenance of detailed project schedules, including activities, durations, logic, milestones, calendars, and coding structures.
  • Progress collection and updates: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, construction, manufacturing, and other stakeholders to collect status, validate inputs, and update schedules on an agreed cycle.
  • Schedule quality: Assist with schedule health checks by identifying open ends, missing logic, excessive constraints, out-of-sequence progress, unusual float, and incomplete activity details.
  • Critical path support: Review critical and near-critical paths with the Lead Master Scheduler and help identify emerging delays, handoff risks, and schedule integration issues.
  • Baseline and change control: Maintain approved baselines, document schedule changes, and support variance analysis in accordance with project controls and change-control processes.
  • Reporting and dashboards: Prepare milestone reports, look-ahead schedules, variance summaries, schedule narratives, and data extracts for Power BI, PowerPoint presentations.
  • Integrated schedule coordination: Help integrate internal workstream schedules with contractor and partner schedules, including EPC/EPCM schedule inputs.
  • Planning workshops: Participate in schedule development and review sessions, capture assumptions and actions, and follow up with owners to close planning gaps.
  • Continuous improvement: Support templates, procedures, coding standards, schedule dictionaries, and reporting improvements that make schedule information more consistent and useful.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, data analytics, or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Approximately 1-5 years of experience in project scheduling, project controls, project coordination, engineering planning, construction planning, or a related role. Relevant internships and co-op experience may count.
  • Basic understanding of project schedules, dependencies, milestones, progress tracking, and the Critical Path Method, or a demonstrated ability to learn these concepts quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with dates, data, logic, and structured information.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, follow up professionally, and work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and the Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Curiosity, accountability, and willingness to learn from an experienced scheduling lead in a fast-moving technical program.

Desirable Experiences:

  • Experience with Primavera P6, Primavera Cloud, Smartsheet, or another scheduling or project-management platform.
  • Exposure to engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, energy, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, or other capital-intensive programs.
  • Experience preparing schedule reports or dashboards in Excel or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with WBS structures, baseline management, earned value concepts, schedule risk, or change control.
  • Coursework or certification progress related to PMI, AACE International, project management, construction management, or project controls.
