About the Role
We are seeking a Founding Product Manager to join our newly formed Digital Banking Products team and lead the build of our online private banking solutions at UBP.
This is a rare opportunity to shape digital services that extend the relationship between our clients and their banker, give them a clear view of their wealth and let them act on it securely, wherever they are. The work is led by a small, empowered product team, sitting close to our relationship managers. We are starting in London with our UK clients, with payments as our first product, and will grow across products and locations over time.
As Founding Product Manager you will be accountable for the value our digital offering delivers to clients and to the bank. You will shape what the team builds, grounding those decisions in evidence from clients and the front office, and steer each release safely through the bank’s governance.
You will work every day with a product designer, a tech lead and engineers, with direct access to clients, relationship managers, the bank’s subject matter experts and senior leadership.
What You’ll Do
Set the direction: own the product vision, roadmap and backlog, sequenced by client value and risk, keeping scope tight and every deferral explicit and reasoned
Discover continuously: speak to clients every week, run regular panels with relationship managers and their assistants, and use client and usage data to size opportunities and test assumptions before anything is built
Deliver with the team: write clear requirements and user stories with client-observable acceptance criteria, prioritise the backlog, and accept completed work in short iterations
Collaborate with control functions: work closely with Risk, Security, Legal and Compliance, the bank’s second line of defence, so that their expertise shapes the product as it is built
Measure what matters: define and track adoption, client satisfaction and product-market fit, and report what the evidence shows, including when it contradicts expectations
Shape the digital agenda: work directly with UBP’s senior leadership to shape the bank’s digital ambition and turn it into products clients value, and equip relationship managers to introduce new digital services to their clients
What You Bring
5+ years as a product manager owning a live digital product end to end
2+ years in payments, banking or another FCA-regulated financial service
A track record of continuous discovery: talking to users, testing ideas before building them, and changing course when the evidence says so
Comfort working with designers and engineers as peers, using tools such as Jira, Confluence and Figma, including leveraging AI in your workflows
The judgement to work constructively with control functions and senior executives, and the confidence to hold a position when the evidence supports it
Excellent written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to make complex topics simple for clients, colleagues and senior stakeholders
Client-centred, rigorous and composed: you start from what clients need, report what the data shows, and keep the team focused on delivering outcomes
Experience in private banking or wealth management (UHNWI / HNWI) is highly valued
Working knowledge of UK payments (Faster Payments, CHAPS, Confirmation of Payee, Strong Customer Authentication, the Payment Services Regulations and the APP fraud reimbursement regime) is a strong advantage
French language skills are a plus
