IT Support Officer

The United Basalt Products Ltd (UBP) is looking to recruit a motivated IT Support Officer to join its IT department.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the network infrastructure and resolve system issues
• Attend to and resolve issues regarding the IT network and servers across the Group
• Provide first-line support and advice to IT users across the Group, and escalate complex problems to the appropriate resources
• Troubleshoot issues related to network administration and system security
• Set up workstations and peripheral devices across the Group, ready before a new recruit's start date
• Walk new recruits through the IT procedures on their first day and provide their access and credentials
• Support colleagues in setting up IT equipment in meeting rooms (connectivity, projector and audio)
• Install, configure and test software according to specifications, and support users on new software
• Carry out minor repairs to hardware and peripheral equipment
• Share advice with management and colleagues on technical systems and processes, and advocate the new IT configuration
• Ensure that the internal health and safety regulations are adhered to

Candidate profile

• Diploma in Information Technology Systems with at least 3 years' experience in a similar position, preferably in a similar environment
• Technical knowledge of IT hardware and software
• Knowledge of networking and big data
• Knowledge of the business environment and its processes, with a commitment to service excellence
• A strong command of the main Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Word and Excel), together with a good knowledge of the other Microsoft 365 applications that help users in their day-to-day work (such as Planner, Forms, Power Automate and Power BI), will be an asset
• Good communication and analytical skills
• Ability to deal with difficult customers
• Team spirit, sound decision-making, focus, and the ability to multitask and manage stress
• Holder of a valid Driving licence is essential
