MDM (TIBCO EBX) Solution Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Architecture: Own the end-to-end TIBCO EBX architecture, including dataspaces, datasets, data models, hierarchies, workflows, security, and integrations.
• Techno-Functional Solutioning: Translate business and regulatory requirements into EBX data models, validation rules, workflows, and business rules.
• Platform Development: Configure and enhance EBX components using Java, Groovy, EBX APIs, and integration adapters, or guide technical teams in delivery.
• Continuous Improvement: Manage the EBX enhancement backlog, onboard new data domains and business units, and identify opportunities for process automation.
• SAP Integration: Design and oversee integrations between EBX, SAP S/4HANA, SAP MDG, and downstream retail and enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, IDoc, OData, and event-driven messaging.
• Data Governance: Collaborate with data owners, governance teams, and business stakeholders to establish data quality standards and governance frameworks.
• Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Implement changes to master data models and workflows to address legal, statutory, tax, trade compliance, and data residency requirements.
• Stakeholder Management: Present architecture decisions, roadmaps, and risks to senior management and steering committees.
• Technical Leadership: Review and approve functional and technical specifications, mentor EBX consultants, and resolve complex design and data-related issues.
• Documentation and Roadmap: Maintain the architecture roadmap and improvement initiatives in coordination with the MDM/Data Governance Lead.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Master Data Management, with substantial solution architecture experience in TIBCO EBX or an equivalent MDM platform with a clear transition path to EBX.
• Strong techno-functional expertise, with the ability to design and configure solutions or direct technical delivery teams.
• Mandatory domain expertise in either:
  • Retail Master Data: Article/Product, Site/Store, Vendor/Supplier, or Customer Master Data; or
  • Material Master Data Management.
• Experience gained through at least three full-cycle MDM implementations or comparable large-scale programmes.
• Experience managing a live MDM platform post-go-live and delivering ongoing enhancements is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in TIBCO EBX architecture, including dataspaces, datasets, data models, hierarchies, workflows, validation rules, security, and permissions.
• Proficiency in Java, Groovy, and EBX APIs for customization and automation.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA and SAP MDG integration.
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, IDoc, OData, and event-driven messaging.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, matching rules, and metadata management.
• Understanding of statutory and regulatory data requirements, including tax/VAT attributes, trade compliance, and data residency.
