Job Description: Migration DBA Consultant

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Migration DBA Consultant to support data migration, database management and master data harmonization as part of a large-scale digital transformation project.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in SQL, PostgreSQL, data analysis, database migration and cloud platforms, with the ability to manage and validate large datasets across multiple systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compare and analyze large datasets to identify data differences and inconsistencies.
  • Clean, prepare and harmonize master data across multiple countries and systems.
  • Support data migration from legacy applications to cloud-based systems and SAP S/4HANA.
  • Execute data loading, validation and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and prevent data loss.
  • Work with SQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Synapse for data extraction and analysis.
  • Use Python and Power BI for data scripting, reporting and visualization.
  • Identify and implement improvements in data quality and migration processes.

Requirements

  • 2-8 years of experience in database administration, data analysis or data migration.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL, including database queries, schema design and performance optimization.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and cloud databases such as Azure Synapse.
  • Hands-on experience in data migration, cleansing, validation and reconciliation.
  • Advanced Excel skills for handling and comparing large datasets.
  • Experience using Python for data scripting and Power BI for reporting.
  • Understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) and data integration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience migrating legacy data to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS/400), DB2 or other legacy ERP systems.
  • Experience with multi-country data migration projects.
  • Familiarity with cloud data architecture and master data domains such as products, suppliers, sites, employees and promotions.
