Technician

Job Overview

We are looking for a hands-on and technically competent Service Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair material handling equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime and maintaining high standards of safety and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and servicing of material handling equipment, including forklifts.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine faults to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Carry out on-site, ad-hoc, and emergency repairs to minimise equipment downtime and operational disruptions.
• Inspect and maintain key equipment components, including masts, chains, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical and electrical parts, in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards at the workplace, service areas, and within the service vehicle.

Job Requirements

• Certificate or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment.
• Good technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid Class 3 driving licence is preferred.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Responsible, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
