Inventory/Production Planner

1. Communicate and coordinate with customers on demand requirements, order priorities and rolling forecasts to ensure accurate production planning.
2. Review customer forecasts and orders, translate demand requirements into production plans and ensure alignment with manufacturing capacity.
3. Develop, maintain and update production schedules based on customer demands, material availability, production capacity and delivery commitments.
4. Monitor daily production progress and ensure production activities are carried out according to the established schedules.
5. Coordinate with internal departments, including Production, Material Planning, Purchasing, Engineering and Quality, to ensure smooth production flow.
6. Follow up on delayed lot movements between operations and identify potential bottlenecks affecting production schedules.
7. Monitor and expedite lots placed on hold due to quality, material shortages or administrative issues to minimize production delays.
8. Identify potential risks to delivery commitments and proactively coordinate recovery plans with relevant departments.
9. Monitor and ensure achievement of On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets in accordance with customer requirements.
10. Analyse production performance, delivery status and planning discrepancies, and prepare regular reports for management review.
11. Review production capacity and resource utilization to support effective scheduling and workload balancing.
12. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure sufficient material readiness and availability to support production requirements.
13. Maintain accurate planning records, production schedules, customer forecasts and delivery status updates.
14. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, production efficiency and delivery performance.
15. Perform other planning-related duties and assignments as assigned by management.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management or any other related discipline.
2. Candidates with 2–3 years of working experience in production planning, material planning or production control within a manufacturing environment will have an added advantage.
3. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
4. Basic understanding of production planning, scheduling, inventory management and manufacturing operations is preferred.
5. Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools will be an added advantage.
6. Good analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with customers and internal departments.
8. Good command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
10. Detail-oriented, proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
11. Able to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and meet tight delivery deadlines.
12. A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to achieving customer satisfaction and operational targets.
