Unisys is an American information technology company formed in 1986 by the merger of Burroughs and Sperry, two of the earliest computer manufacturers, and it still supports the ClearPath mainframe line descended from those machines. Its modern business is built around digital workplace services, cloud and infrastructure management, application modernisation and a logistics software business, sold largely to government agencies, banks, airlines and transport operators that run long-lived critical systems. Headquartered in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it carries a substantial legacy pension obligation alongside its services operations.

What success looks like in this role:

The Project Delivery Lead is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of application migration and modernization services across Azure and AWS cloud platforms. This role leads a customer-facing, multi-disciplinary delivery team embedded within the customer's organization and is responsible for the successful execution of a wave-based migration programmed operating within a Migration Factory model.

Working within the customer's governance, architecture, security, and operational frameworks, the Project Delivery Lead is the primary point of accountability for delivery outcomes and serves as the senior interface between Unisys and customer stakeholders. The role ensures migration activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with agreed business outcomes, architecture standards, security requirements, and programme objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of application migration and modernization initiatives across Azure and AWS, spanning discovery, assessment, planning, design, build, migration, testing, cutover, and transition to support.

  • Own the successful delivery of migration waves, ensuring programme objectives, milestones, scope, quality, schedule, and budget commitments are achieved.

  • Direct and coordinate multi-disciplinary delivery teams, including solution architects, business analysts, migration specialists, security and compliance architects, cloud engineers, and testing resources.

  • Act as the single point of accountability for delivery outcomes and customer satisfaction.

Migration Factory Operations

  • Lead delivery within a Migration Factory operating model, managing the prioritisation and sequencing of applications into migration waves based on business value, technical complexity, risk, and dependencies.

  • Oversee application lifecycle management and migration decision-making, ensuring appropriate migration strategies (7Rs framework) are applied to each application.

  • Continuously improve migration processes, delivery methodologies, tooling, and governance to increase throughput, productivity, quality, and predictability.

Stakeholder and Customer Management

  • Establish trusted relationships with customer stakeholders across business, technology, architecture, cyber security, and programme governance functions.

  • Lead requirements gathering, validation, and prioritisation activities with business owners and subject matter experts.

  • Represent Unisys in programme governance forums, steering committees, architecture review boards, and security review processes.

  • Manage communication, expectations, escalations, and decision-making across all stakeholders.

Governance, Risk and Compliance

  • Own programme governance activities including planning, reporting, RAID management, dependency management, and executive communications.

  • Ensure compliance with customer security, architecture, operational and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead approval processes through architecture, design, security, operational readiness, and release governance gates.

  • Identify, manage, and mitigate programme risks and issues to minimise delivery impacts.

Resource and Vendor Management

  • Manage workforce planning, resource allocation, capacity management, utilisation, and scaling of the delivery team.

  • Coordinate third-party suppliers, subcontractors, and cloud partners to ensure delivery alignment with programme objectives and governance requirements.

  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer, capability uplift, and development of delivery team members.

DevSecOps and Delivery Excellence

  • Drive adoption of DevSecOps practices, automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native delivery approaches.

  • Ensure approved tools, platforms, AI capabilities, and development frameworks are used in accordance with customer governance and security requirements.

  • Oversee transition and handover activities to service operations and support teams, ensuring operational readiness and sustainable support models.

Role Requirement:

  • Extensive experience leading large-scale application migration and modernisation programmes to Azure and AWS cloud platforms.

  • Proven track record delivering complex transformation initiatives within highly regulated and security-conscious environments.

  • Strong experience working within government, defence, or secure enterprise environments subject to architecture, security, and compliance controls.

  • Demonstrated success leading customer-facing delivery teams across multiple disciplines and workstreams.

  • Experience delivering programmes using Agile, Scaled Agile, hybrid delivery methodologies, and wave-based migration approaches.

  • Experience operating within a Migration Factory or similar industrialised delivery model.

  • Technical Skillsets: Strong understanding of Azure and AWS cloud platforms and migration frameworks.

  • Solid knowledge of application lifecycle management, cloud adoption strategies, and application modernisation approaches.

  • Working knowledge of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, automation, and cloud governance frameworks.
