Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Salesforce Tech Lead is a hands-on technical lead responsible for designing, building, and supporting scalable Salesforce solutions across enterprise applications.

This role partners with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and distributed development teams to translate business needs into secure, maintainable technical solutions.

The ideal candidate can independently lead complex initiatives, guide other developers, balance multiple priorities, and ensure high-quality delivery from requirements through production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Salesforce solution delivery, from technical design and development through testing, deployment, production validation, and support.
• Serve as a hands-on technical lead, building complex Salesforce functionality while guiding other developers.
• Design and implement scalable solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow, SOQL/SOSL, platform APIs, and related Salesforce capabilities.
• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, analysts, architects, and technology teams to clarify requirements and recommend practical Salesforce solutions.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, estimates, integration approaches, and implementation plans.
• Coordinate onshore and offshore developers through design guidance, code reviews, dependency management, and technical issue resolution.
• Lead technical delivery across multiple Salesforce projects, enhancements, defects, technical debt, and production-support priorities.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, architecture discussions, estimation, release planning, and production-readiness activities.
• Promote Salesforce engineering best practices for reusable architecture, secure coding, performance, testing, logging, and maintainability.
• Develop enterprise-grade Apex, including services, triggers, asynchronous processing, batch jobs, scheduled jobs, and reusable frameworks.
• Build responsive, reusable Lightning Web Components using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Lightning Data Service, and Salesforce Lightning Design System.
• Use Salesforce Flow and Apex appropriately to deliver automation that is scalable, supportable, and aligned to platform best practices.
• Design and implement integrations using Salesforce APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, middleware, and appropriate integration patterns.
• Apply secure integration patterns using OAuth, Named Credentials, and appropriate authentication and authorization approaches.
• Design solutions with strong awareness of Salesforce limits, transaction boundaries, large data volumes, performance, scalability, and resiliency.
• Apply Salesforce security best practices for profiles, permission sets, sharing, CRUD/FLS, role hierarchy, record access, Apex, and LWC.
• Create and maintain automated tests, including Apex unit tests, test data, callout mocks, positive and negative scenarios, and LWC Jest tests where applicable.
• Support source-driven development and release practices using Git, Salesforce CLI, CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and deployment automation.
• Troubleshoot complex Salesforce application and integration issues, including root-cause analysis, defect resolution, performance analysis, and production support.
• Identify opportunities to improve architecture, performance, maintainability, development processes, and user experience.
• Identify and address technical debt while balancing long-term architecture goals with delivery needs.
• Collaborate with Salesforce and enterprise architects to align solutions with architecture, security, integration, and technology standards.
• Mentor developers through coaching, code reviews, technical discussions, and development standards.
• Stay current with Salesforce platform capabilities, releases, AI features, and emerging technologies, recommending adoption where they add business or technical value.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 4+ years of software design and development experience delivering enterprise-scale applications.
• 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including senior developer or technical lead responsibilities on complex implementations.
• Proven ability to independently own and deliver Salesforce applications or major capabilities with limited supervision.
• Advanced Salesforce development skills with Apex, triggers, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, Flow, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, data model, metadata, APIs, and integrations.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented development, enterprise design patterns, reusable components, and maintainable code architecture.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce governor limits, bulkification, transaction management, asynchronous Apex, exception handling, and performance.
• Experience with asynchronous Salesforce patterns such as Queueable Apex, Batch Apex, Scheduled Apex, Platform Events, or Change Data Capture.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce security, including sharing, profiles, permission sets, CRUD/FLS, and secure development practices.
• Strong experience integrating Salesforce with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and modern authentication mechanisms.
• Experience with Git, Salesforce CLI, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and modern Salesforce development practices.
• Strong experience creating Apex unit tests, test data, positive and negative scenarios, callout mocks, and tests for complex logic.
• Experience with one or more Salesforce products such as Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Experience Cloud.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, including root-cause analysis and sustainable resolution of complex production issues.
• Ability to review code and provide actionable guidance on design, performance, security, scalability, testing, and maintainability.
• Ability to provide technical leadership to onshore and offshore developers and coordinate work across distributed teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
• Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and communicate technical concepts, risks, dependencies, and solution options clearly.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Self-starter with strong ownership, accountability, initiative, and ability to deliver high-quality solutions with minimal supervision.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills across technical teams, business teams, management, and end users.

Preferred

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I/II, JavaScript Developer, Platform App Builder, Application Architect, Agentforce Specialist, or related credentials.
• Experience in large enterprise Salesforce environments with multiple applications, integrations, development teams, or Salesforce orgs.
• Experience with large data volumes, complex integrations, event-driven architecture, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, or enterprise middleware.
• Experience with DevOps, automated testing, static code analysis, deployment automation, and Salesforce release management.
• Experience supporting or modernizing legacy Salesforce solutions using Visualforce or Aura components.
• Experience with MuleSoft or other enterprise integration platforms.
• Knowledge of AI, Generative AI, LLMs, and responsible enterprise use of AI-assisted application development.
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce Agentforce and related AI capabilities, including agents, actions, prompts, topics, guardrails, and Salesforce data integration.
• Experience implementing AI-enabled Salesforce use cases that improve productivity, service, automation, or business processes.
• Familiarity with Salesforce Data Cloud for AI, Agentforce, customer data unification, and contextualized Salesforce experiences.
• Airline or travel-industry experience.
• Experience integrating Salesforce with Java, .NET, cloud platforms, or other enterprise technology stacks.

The base pay range for this role is $112,480.00 to $146,540.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
