You Are:

UST is searching for a Lab Technician experienced in bringing up, troubleshooting, and debugging server motherboards.

The opportunity:

·Receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments

··Troubleshoot, debug, and bring up server motherboards

··Install and update Linux/Windows/VMWare operating systems and drivers

·Perform BIOS/CPLD/FWs/VR/BMC programming and chipset driver updates

·Configure network connections using DHCP/Static IP protocols

·Assemble racks and systems with proper cable management

··Assemble and configure peripherals for system bring up

·Configure Power PDUs, KVMs, and assign IP addresses

·Build HOST systems from IT builds or clone HDDs as needed

·Move racks, systems, tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers within the lab

·Perform lab cleaning and maintenance

·Support and mentor new team members as buddy, trainer, and certifier

··Update training documentation as needed

·Work at a client site lab facility (remote working is not available)

·Maintain lab discipline to ensure security, safety, and cleanliness

·Attend required safety and health trainings and follow all safety and security policies

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What you need :

··Hands-on experience installing Linux, Windows, and VMWare operating systems

·Experienced in updating drivers (OS and chipset)

·Experienced in BIOS/CPLD/FWs/VR/BMC programming and updates

·Knowledge of connecting systems in network environments using DHCP/Static IP configurations

·Familiar with PC Bring Up and assembling peripherals for system configuration

··Experience working in ticketing-based environments

··Basic understanding of board reworks

·Understanding of Inventory and Hardware management

·Proficiency in MS-Excel

·Team player with a positive attitude and support-oriented mindset

··Able to lift up to 25 lbs, 10 times per day

··Capable of climbing short stairs and standing/sitting/walking for 8 hours

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Oregon

Compensation Range: $38,000-$57,000

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.
