We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector/Warehouse Specialist with a strong machining background to join our Supply Chain Team
The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting machined components, reading engineering drawings, and utilizing precision measuring equipment to verify compliance with specifications. This role is critical in ensuring that purchased and manufactured parts meet quality standards before being released to inventory, production, or customers. Additionally, this role provides support to other areas of our Supply Chain team, including the onsite Warehouse facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of machined components and assemblies.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and material certifications.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Verify critical features including diameters, lengths, threads, taper, angles, surface finishes, and geometric tolerances.
- Perform first article inspections and document inspection results.
- Identify, document, and communicate non-conforming material and quality issues.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
- Review material certifications, inspection reports, and supporting quality documentation.
- Assist in root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Maintain inspection records and ensure traceability of inspected products.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and inspection processes.
- Receive incoming goods, check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices.
- Pick order, pack, receive, and dispatch outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests or orders.
- Enter data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock and inventory records; retrieve stored information to respond to enquiries (for example on stock transfer, inventory levels or delivery schedules.)
- Ensure proper routing of materials is maintained while transporting the materials between departments
- Perform other routine clerical activities according to the organization’s established procedures, which may include updating stock cards and inventory records and completing receipt, transfer, delivery, and dispatch forms.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or machining apprenticeship preferred.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a machining, manufacturing, warehouse or quality inspection environment.
- Strong understanding of machining processes including turning, milling, grinding, welding, and fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Working knowledge of material specifications and inspection techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
