Job description:
At Valtech, you'll find an environment designed for continuous learning, meaningful impact, and professional growth. Whether you're pioneering new digital solutions, challenging conventional thinking, or building the next generation of customer experiences, your work will help transform industries.
The role:
As a .NET Software Architect, you are passionate about experience innovation and eager to push the boundaries of what's possible. You bring 10+ years of experience, a growth mindset, and a drive to make a lasting impact.
You will thrive in this role if you are:
- A curious problem solver who challenges the status quo
- A collaborator who values teamwork and knowledge-sharing
- Excited by the intersection of technology, creativity, and data
- Experienced in Agile methodologies and consulting (a plus)
Role responsibilities:
- System Architecture: Design and maintain clean, decoupled ecosystem blueprints using Clean Architecture and Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) patterns to separate core domain business rules from external infrastructure.
- Event Streaming & Processing: Architect high-throughput, fault-tolerant event streams using Apache Kafka. Design partition strategies, consumer groups, schemas, and end-to-end messaging reliability configurations (e.g., handling backpressure, atomicity, and idempotent messaging).
- Ultra-Low Latency API Engineering: Develop ultra-responsive ASP.NET Core Minimal APIs optimized for sub-second, real-time responses. Implement advanced caching topologies (output and distributed memory caches), optimized connection pooling, and resilient pipeline middleware.
- Frontend Architecture: Steer the strategy for modular web applications using Blazor. Define the best use of rendering modes (WASM, Server, and interactive interoperability) to deliver seamless, real-time user experiences.
- Cloud & Orchestration: Leverage .NET Aspire for distributed application orchestration, containerization (Docker), and multi-service lifecycle management.
Technical Skills & Qualifications Core .NET Mastery:
- Expertise in C# & .NET 10: Deep understanding of the latest language specifications, compilation optimizations, and Central Package Management.
- Clean Architecture Practices: Proven experience building rigid dependency hierarchies (Domain -> Application -> Infrastructure -> Web/API).
Distributed Systems & Event Streaming:
- Apache Kafka Ecosystem: Extensive hands-on experience building producers, consumers, and stream-processing infrastructure. Proficiency with Kafka Streams API, Confluent Schema Registry, or Avro contracts is a plus.
- Asynchronous Integration: Mastery over event-driven microservices, sagas, message routing, error queues, and eventually consistent database models.
API Design & Optimization:
- Sub-second REST/gRPC Engineering: Proven track record of configuring high-performance networking pipelines, async I/O handling, and low-latency payload serialization.
- Data Lifecycle Management: Proficiency with Entity Framework Core, complex query tuning, B-tree indexes, execution plans, and read/write optimization.
Modern UI Frameworks:
- Advanced Blazor Components: Full understanding of the Blazor component lifecycle, global state management, JavaScript Interop, and client-server security trade-offs.
Preferred Experience:
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 3+ years serving as a Software Architect or Technical Lead.
- Extensive experience deploying containerized microservices to cloud environments (AWS or Azure) via automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with distributed resiliency patterns, circuit breakers, and rate-limiting utilizing frameworks like Polly.
If you do not meet all the listed qualifications or have gaps in your experience, we still encourage you to apply. At Valtech, we recognize that talent comes in many forms, and we value diverse perspectives and a willingness to learn.
