Finance Student Placement / Apprentice

Job Description

Reporting to the Regional Finance Associate Director, the Finance Student Placement / Apprenticewill support the Vertex’s finance organization supporting the Southern Europe and Brazil (SEB) Region planning and analytics activities.

As an individual contributor, he/she will assist in coordinating the monthly planning meetings and operating reviews, and will support various finance and business analytics projects within the SEB Region, with a specific focus on France & Benelux.

Primary Responsibilities

For a number of Vertex companies, currently covering countries including but not limited to France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Brazil and Greece :

• Assist in coordinating the monthly forecast operating reviews, in partnership with key business, finance and accounting stakeholders; develop key insights across the forecasts and scenarios. Provide the demand forecast for the countries in scope.
• Support the monthly close process, including variance analysis & powerpoint creation.
• Actively support the right cost allocation & invoicing issues
• Help support the Long Range Planning and Budget processes.
• Help prepare briefing materials for senior management.
• Be a team member in Vertex’s financial and business data warehouse and financial and business reporting implementation projects.
• Develop and maintain the Sales Analytics process, metrics and reporting.
• Develop / integrate metrics for tracking company performance budgets and forecasts versus goals, preparing and presenting KPIs for both revenue and expenses.
• Identifies and actively participates in process improvement projects and ad hoc analyses as requested.
• Be a key point of contact for all the AI finance tool enhancements / deployments.

Qualifications

• Currently in Master 2 either in a scientific or business discipline with an advanced degree in Business or Economics.
• Understanding of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or health care industries performing financial planning, sales forecasting, business analytics, or consulting roles.
• Experience conducting complex analytic assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced knowledge of English language.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Advanced knowledge and proficiency of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and financial planning and reporting systems (SAP BPC, OB, Hyperion)
