Trainee - Housekeeping

The Housekeeping Trainee assists the housekeeping team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across luxury villas, guest-facing public spaces, and back-of-house laundry operations. Under the guidance of supervisors, the trainee rotates through each section to learn standard operating procedures (SOPs), chemical safety, equipment handling, and guest etiquette.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in cleaning and maintaining guest villas, bedrooms, bathrooms, public areas, and other assigned facilities according to hotel standards.
• Perform bed making, linen changing, amenity replenishment, and room preparation to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction.
• Clean and sanitize public areas, restrooms, floors, furniture, and other facilities to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
• Assist with laundry operations, including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distributing guest laundry, uniforms, and hotel linens.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and organization of cleaning supplies, laundry equipment, amenities, and linen inventories.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged items, and lost-and-found belongings to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow hotel procedures, safety guidelines, and hygiene standards while performing all assigned duties.
• Work collaboratively with the Housekeeping team and perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Job Requirement

• Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a vocational school or college in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Room Division, or a related field.
• Demonstrates a strong interest in housekeeping operations and hotel service standards.
• Possesses basic knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleanliness, and hygiene, with a willingness to learn.
• Good command of spoken and written English; additional foreign languages are a strong advantage.
• Has good communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Demonstrates attention to detail, discipline, responsibility, and a strong willingness to learn.
• Willing to undergo job rotation in Villa Attendant, Public Area, and Laundry sections.
• Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, according to hotel operational requirements.
