Program Manager

Vital Strategies is seeking a Program Manager to support its Lead Poisoning Prevention Program in Rwanda. The successful candidate will provide technical and programmatic support, strengthen health systems, oversee field research, and support the design and monitoring of blood lead surveillance. The role involves collaborating with government officials, public health experts, research teams, and other stakeholders to improve environmental health and prevent childhood lead exposure.

• Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Environmental Science, Biostatistics, Demography, Public Administration, or a related field.
• At least 6–7 years of relevant experience in epidemiology, environmental health, global health, or program implementation.
• Experience designing or monitoring national health surveillance programs or managing large health-related surveys.
• Experience working with government health departments, regulatory bodies, and public health facilities.
• Experience using data analysis software such as R, Stata, SAS, or Excel, and/or visualization platforms such as Shiny or Tableau.
• Experience conducting training sessions and supervising small teams.
• Ability to manage 2–3 staff members and coordinate national-level stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of public health systems, disease surveillance, and health and environmental risk assessment.
• Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional proficiency in English and the candidate's native language.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience managing complex data flows.
• Experience communicating scientific and health information to diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Monday or Airtable.

• Full-time remote position based in Kigali, Rwanda.
• Open to Rwandan nationals and candidates with a valid Rwandan work/residence permit.
