About this role

We are seeking a Telecom Billing Operations Support Engineer to provide Level 2 application operations support for telecom billing platforms and billing-cycle activities. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in billing operations, BSS environments, application support, or production operations who are passionate about service reliability, billing accuracy, automation, and continual improvement.

The role supports bill runs, invoice processing, CDR management, reconciliation, discrepancy analysis, incident resolution, and operational governance activities. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including CRM, mediation, infrastructure, database, service management, and vendor partners to deliver stable, efficient, and compliant billing services.

Who you are

Essential Experience

• 0 to 3 years of experience in Telecom IT, Billing Operations, BSS, Production Support, or Enterprise Application Support environments.
• Exposure to billing-cycle activities, invoice processing, CDR management, discrepancy handling, reconciliation, and billing support operations.
• Experience in monitoring applications, analysing logs, investigating incidents, and resolving operational issues.

Technical Skills

• Hands-on exposure to telecom billing platforms such as Oracle BRM, Amdocs, Kenan, Geneva/SingleView, BSCS, or equivalent billing solutions.
• Knowledge of bill-run processing including bill preparation, bill generation, bill validation, re-runs, error handling, and cycle closure.
• Understanding of invoice generation, validation, posting, extraction, document outputs, and downstream integrations.
• Familiarity with call and CDR processing, rating and re-rating activities, suspended and rejected record management, and usage reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operations and Shell scripting.
• Proficiency in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL for production analysis, reconciliation, validation, reporting, and automation.
• Experience with log analysis, batch processing, schedulers, file management, database performance analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of integrations across CRM, mediation, billing, invoicing, payment, reporting, and document management systems.

Monitoring & Observability

• Exposure to monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Kibana, Splunk, Datadog, Grafana, Zabbix, or equivalent tools.
• Experience maintaining dashboards, monitoring jobs, tuning alerts, performing event correlation, and executing proactive health checks.

Functional Competencies

• Understanding of ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management processes.
• Experience working within SLA and KPI-driven operational environments.
• Awareness of billing assurance, reconciliation controls, audit readiness, and operational risk management.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, stakeholder collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• ITIL Foundation certification or telecom billing platform certification is desirable.
