Position Description
VOLO is looking for experienced and goal-oriented Senior .NET Developer to join our enterprise-focused team, contributing to complex projects for international clients.
What you will do
Design, build and own backend services and APIs for client-facing products in fintech, banking, education and other industries
Design system architecture for new products and features, choosing service boundaries, data ownership, communication patterns and deployment approach
Evaluate architectural trade-offs (monolith vs. microservices, build vs. buy, etc)
Write clean, testable, secure code, and keep quality and architectural consistency high through design and code reviews
Find and fix performance bottlenecks across the API, database and infrastructure layers
Define and track performance targets (latency, throughput, resource usage)
Lead the modernization of legacy systems, including refactoring, gradual migration and breaking up monoliths where it makes sense
Contribute to technical estimates and solution designs for new projects and client proposals
Work closely with product, frontend, QA and DevOps across the full delivery lifecycle
Mentor mid-level and junior engineers and help shape engineering standards
What you need to have
5+ years of backend development with C# and .NET
Strong OOP, SOLID principles and design patterns
Experience designing RESTful APIs with ASP.NET Core, including API contracts and versioning
Solid async programming and concurrency in .NET
Experience optimizing database performance: reading execution plans, choosing between EF Core and raw SQL/Dapper where it matters
Experience with authentication and authorization (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT)
Architecture and distributed systems
Strong SQL skills (schema design, indexing, query optimization), plus Entity Framework Core and LINQ
Strong grasp of architectural patterns: Clean/Hexagonal Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, Event Sourcing
Experience with distributed system patterns: Saga, idempotency, retries with backoff, API Gateway, CAP trade-offs
Practical experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka or Azure Service Bus)
Experience with caching strategies and distributed caching (Redis)
Experience designing for scale, using techniques such as horizontal scaling, connection pooling, pagination, batching and background processing
Nice to have
Cloud experience (Azure or AWS),
Experience using AI-assisted development tools in daily work
Frontend experience with TypeScript and Angular or React, enough to contribute to full-stack features
