Invia x Travelplanet.pl x Wakacje.pl is one of the largest travel groups in Europe. Every year we help more than 6 million people plan their trips. Behind that sit teams in IT, Product, Data, Marketing, HR, Finance, Sales and Customer Experience, who build the tools and services those travelers use. Whichever team you join, your work shows up in how people plan and experience their holidays.
Your next stop:
We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead from six to seven engineering teams within a single Agile Release Train (ART). You'll work closely with the technical leaders of each team – developing their skills, removing blockers and holding them accountable – and partner with Product Managers and Agile Coaches to make sure engineering has a strong voice at the table.
Your time: ~50% leadership (team capability, performance, recruitment, culture), ~40% business (PI planning, progress against objectives, mentoring leaders, reporting status and risks to the Director of Engineering), the rest technical – no coding, but enough judgment to evaluate trade-offs and credibly represent engineering in strategic discussions.
The environment is complex: 289 microservices, a diverse tech stack and cross-team dependencies that directly affect delivery. You don't need to be an expert in everything – you bring structure, clarity and ownership.
What lies ahead on your journey:
Engineering Value Creation
Turn business goals into clear engineering actions and 6+ month objectives with measurable targets
Link engineering work to customer and business value, following our prioritization framework
Plan and track team capacity and design team structures as the organization grows
Delivery
Break work into small, predictable cycles; maintain daily deployments and cycle time under 3 weeks for typical features
Reduce lead time from idea to production and remove bottlenecks, balancing speed and quality
Work with Agile Coaches on SAFe ceremonies (PI Planning, System Demo, Inspect & Adapt, Scrum of Scrums) and with Product Managers on PI Objectives and roadmap
Report delivery status, risks and organizational health to the Director of Engineering
Operational Excellence
Measure what matters and fix issues fast; set quarterly targets and SLOs that reflect user experience
Lead ART-level planning, manage cross-team dependencies and keep alignment to Program Increments
Spot issues early, maintain clear risk escalation paths and ensure 24/7 continuity of your cluster
Technical Excellence
Set technical standards with leaders and architects: code reviews, testing (unit, integration, E2E), documentation
Balance innovation and stability; oversee technical debt and boost developer productivity
Define and track meaningful technical metrics and turn customer feedback into technical direction
Leadership & Talent Development
Hire and retain top talent, including leadership positions; build strong teams through talent density and clear accountability
Set clear goals with frequent feedback, support personal development plans and plan for succession
Handle performance issues, conflicts and offboarding promptly and clearly
Build a culture of ownership, open debate and blameless post-mortems
What to pack in your suitcase:
10+ years in IT, including 5+ years of engineering management and a strong technical background (frontend is a plus)
Experience managing team/tech leaders, in a product-focused company
Practical knowledge of Scrum
Strong technical judgment – able to evaluate system design and trade-offs
Ability to handle difficult conversations with leaders, product and the business
Fluent English
Your extra baggage of experience:
SAFe or another scaled Agile framework (ART experience), working with Agile Coaches / RTEs
Marketplace or travel sector experience
Microservices environment (100+ services)
Jira, Confluence, Datadog or similar
