DevOps Architect

Walker Digital Table Systems (WDTS) is looking for an experienced DevOps Architect to design, build, and scale highly available, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will drive DevOps transformation by architecting enterprise-grade platforms, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and establishing engineering best practices across cloud and on-premises environments.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and manage enterprise Kubernetes platforms across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Build and maintain scalable DevOps platforms using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design secure, highly available, and cost-optimised AWS infrastructure, including networking, IAM, multi-account architecture, and governance.
• Develop and implement platform automation using Python, Shell scripting, APIs, and infrastructure automation tools.
• Manage and optimise large-scale distributed platforms including Kafka, databases, and mission-critical applications.
• Design resilient infrastructure with high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity strategies.
• Implement observability and monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, and other distributed monitoring tools.
• Establish DevOps standards, governance, security best practices, platform architecture, and operational excellence across engineering teams.
• Lead cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, and platform engineering initiatives.
• Collaborate with development, security, infrastructure, and product teams to improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Mentor DevOps engineers and provide technical leadership on platform architecture and automation initiatives.

Requirements:

• Strong expertise in designing, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes platforms in cloud and on-premises environments.
• Experience building enterprise DevOps platforms using Terraform, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Deep understanding of AWS architecture, networking, security, multi-account strategies, and cost optimisation.
• Experience managing highly available Kafka, database, and application platforms at scale.
• Strong Linux administration, Python automation, Shell scripting, and API integration skills.
• Expertise in observability platforms including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, and distributed monitoring solutions.
• Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable, and disaster recovery-ready infrastructure.
• Ability to establish platform standards, governance, automation strategies, and technical leadership across engineering teams

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with GitOps practices and tools such as ArgoCD or FluxCD.
• Experience with container security and Kubernetes security best practices.
• Knowledge of service mesh technologies (Istio/Linkerd).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Good to have: AWS
