What you'll do...
As a Software Engineer III, you will lead the design and development of technical solutions for small to large projects by collaborating with cross functional teams including product management and user experience. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure sustainable, high-quality code delivery. This role involves managing project requirements, and driving continuous improvement through testing, debugging, and automation. Your expertise will support business objectives by delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and adhering to established standards and best practices.About the team:
This role will join a dedicated team driving Walmart’s Last Mile Delivery platform, essential to Grocery and Same Day Delivery services. This team focuses on building scalable, high-performance solutions to handle millions of daily requests. Collaborating across functions, members solve complex engineering challenges using advanced technologies and iterative development. The team values technical excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering impactful projects with high visibility. Engineers contribute to design, development, testing, and deployment while supporting operational stability and innovation to meet evolving business needs in a fast-growing environment.
What you'll do:
- Design, Develop, test, and maintain code ensuring compliance with quality, security, and scalability standards using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with strong focus on performance, maintainability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define high-level designs and translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production and business issues through root cause analysis and effective action plans.
- Implement automation scripts and telemetry features to enhance continuous integration and delivery processes.
- Monitor application performance, conduct maintenance, and evaluate change requests for feasibility and impact.
- Prepare and execute test cases, manage defects, and ensure timely resolution to maintain software quality.
What you'll bring:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent, with 2 or more years in software engineering, Java/J2EE design and architecture.
- Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery within Agile environments.
- Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming and coding standards using Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong technical acumen with expertise in API design, platform development, and component services.
- Experience with SQL / NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in debugging, problem solving, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions for complex production issues.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including product and project management.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
