What you'll do...
Role summary:We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Vision Engineer (Individual Contributor) to develop and deploy advanced robotics systems across Walmart’s supply chain network. This role operates across the full robotics stack-from perception and modeling to system integration and field deployment. You will play a critical role in translating innovation into production-ready solutions, working at the intersection of robotics, AI, and large-scale operations.
About the team:
Walmart’s Advanced Engineering & Robotics team at Bentonville’s Innovation Lab pioneers next-generation automation solutions for supply chain operations. This team designs, develops, and deploys proprietary robotics systems in collaboration with leading solution providers, creating custom technologies. Focused on transforming concepts into scalable applications, the team drives continuous improvement through advanced analytics, systems design, and project management. Members contribute to impactful projects enhancing operational efficiency and innovation, supporting Walmart’s commitment to technological advancement and operational excellence.
What you'll do:
Perception & Computer Vision (Primary Focus)
- Design, develop, and deploy robust perception systems for real-world robotics environments
- Build advanced computer vision models (detection, segmentation, pose estimation, 3D perception)
- Develop and optimize multi-sensor fusion pipelines (RGB, RGB-D, LiDAR)
- Integrate perception outputs with planning, control, and decision systems
Robotics Development & Deployment
- Deploy and validate perception-driven robotics systems in lab and production environments
- Lead field testing, debugging, and performance tuning of perception modules
- Transition perception capabilities from prototype to scalable production systems
Software & Systems Engineering
- Exposure to ROS / ROS2-based perception architectures
- Experience with Vision-Language-Action (VLA) or perception-driven AI systems
- Optimize and deploy perception/AI models on edge devices (GPUs/accelerators)

- Deep expertise in ROS / ROS2 and perception system integration
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in computer vision, perception, or robotics AI systems
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python
- Experience with:
- Computer Vision (3D perception, detection, segmentation, pose estimation)
- Sensor Fusion (LiDAR, cameras, RGB-D)
- Real-time systems and edge AI deployment
- Robotics system integration

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
