We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Golang, backend development, REST APIs, and microservices to design and build scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems.

The role is suited for an engineer with strong software development fundamentals and hands-on experience building distributed applications. You will contribute to system architecture, backend engineering, performance optimisation, and the development of robust services that can support evolving business and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang/Go.
• Build robust, secure, and high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Design and implement distributed systems that support scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Participate in system design and architecture discussions and contribute to technical decisions.
• Develop clean, reusable, testable, and maintainable code following engineering best practices.
• Design efficient data models and work with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Optimise backend services for performance, scalability, availability, and resource utilisation.
• Containerise applications using Docker and support deployments through Kubernetes.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Troubleshoot application and production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
• Develop unit and integration tests to maintain application quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver features end-to-end.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to coding standards, engineering practices, and technical documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve system architecture, development processes, automation, and engineering efficiency.
• Support production releases, monitoring, incident resolution, and ongoing application improvements.

• 5+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Golang/Go and backend application development.
• Proven experience building and maintaining REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in development or production environments.
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software development workflows.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modelling and query optimisation.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and clean coding practices.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to independently own technical deliverables and solve complex engineering problems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to scalable, production-grade systems.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
