Research Assistant/Doctoral Student (f/m/d) - Chair of Strategy and Marketing

General information

We work creatively with a systematic, theoretical-conceptual approach. Our aim is to provide academically well-founded answers to the most relevant management issues concerning strategy, price and brand management as well as consumer goods and retail marketing.

During your doctorate, we will support you by providing direct feedback. In addition, you will benefit from a cross-departmental, constructive exchange with other faculty members and doctoral students. As the overall goal of your doctorate, you will be prepared in the best possible way for careers in corporate practice.

The work of the Chair embodies such research and practical relevance. Professor Martin Fassnacht's alumni are successful managers of large companies, professors with a strong research background or partners of leading international management consultancies.

Professor Fassnacht takes part actively in the national media landscape, regularly discussing strategic issues in a wide variety of newspaper, radio and TV interviews. As our academic claim states: "We inspire business."

Your mission

• Development and publication of a cumulative or monographic doctoral project in the areas of strategic marketing, price and brand management, or consumer goods and retail marketing
• Providing lecture support and carrying out administrative tasks for the Chair
• Participating in doctoral courses, adopting new professional and methodological skills

Your profile

• Above-average degree in economics, psychology or a comparable course of study (diploma or master's degree) either successfully completed or about to be completed
• Ideally, specialization in strategy and/or marketing and/or corresponding practical experience
• Genuine enthusiasm for the Chair´s research focus
• Independent, proactive mindset and willingness to drive your research projects forward with professional commitment
• Excellent communication skills (spoken and in writing) in German and English

Academic Environment

• The Chair is based in Düsseldorf, but the job can be performed remotely from any location in Germany. There are regular appointments both in Düsseldorf and in Vallendar.
