Senior Director - Java Engineering

We are looking for a Senior Director - Java Engineering to lead large-scale engineering teams, drive AI-powered technology initiatives, and build enterprise-grade solutions for the BFSI domain. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership experience, be hands-on with coding and architecture, and possess a proven track record of delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor engineering managers, architects, and development teams.
• Drive technology strategy, engineering excellence, and product innovation.
• Design and develop scalable applications using Java and modern microservices architecture.
• Champion AI/ML adoption and integrate AI-driven solutions into business platforms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and senior leadership.
• Ensure security, compliance, and regulatory standards within BFSI applications.
• Establish best practices for software development, code quality, DevOps, and cloud adoption.
• Manage end-to-end delivery of complex enterprise programs.

Requirements:

• 14+ years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in Java.
• Hands-on coding experience with Core Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and Distributed Systems.
• Experience leading large engineering teams (50+ members) and managing managers.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, and AI-driven product development.
• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Expertise in System Design, Architecture, Performance Optimisation, and Scalability.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in BFSI domain projects and digital transformation initiatives.
• Experience with data platforms, analytics, fraud detection, risk management, or fintech solutions.
• An MBA or Master's degree is an added advantage.
