The company focuses on providing cloud-based tools for scheduling, route optimization, customer acquisition, and payment processing to service industries such as pest control, lawn care, and commercial cleaning. Headquartered in Holmdel, New Jersey, it supports thousands of service businesses globally to streamline daily operations and enhance productivity.

At WorkWave, we are committed to empowering the hardworking service professionals who keep our world safe, clean, and beautiful. Through our powerful suite of software solutions, we give these business owners the tools they need to run their businesses more efficiently, increase profitability, and deliver exceptional service.

We are seeking a Product Designer to craft intuitive and efficient product experiences. You will partner with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality design solutions for well-defined problems, creating and validating designs while considering the secondary consequences of your decisions. You will be part of our collaborative, diverse team who value winning as a team and innovating to change the industry.

This role is perfect for an experienced product designer who thrives on solving complex problems for non-technical users, has a passion for creating products that feel effortless to use, and wants to make a meaningful impact on the lives of hardworking service professionals across the country.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    Product Design Excellence

    • Transform customer and business objectives into compelling products that have purpose, simplicity, and are feasible to build
    • Develop multiple solutions for defined challenges across our product suite. You will manage the design process from concept to delivery, ensuring your work is aligned with business goals and maintains a high bar for quality
    • Manage the design process for your projects from discovery and concept ideation through flows, wireframes to full-fidelity prototype designs
    • Ensure all designs prioritize the needs of non-technical users, focusing on simplicity, speed, and trust

    Collaboration & Communication

    • Partner with leadership and product marketing stakeholders to ensure design concepts meet our customers' needs and deliver desired results
    • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product managers, engineers, and other designers in a triad model
    • Clearly present your design process, inspiration, and decisions to stakeholders, explaining the “why” behind your work
    • Use storytelling techniques to communicate complex design rationale and build alignment across teams
    • Share your work in design reviews to explain your decisions, triage feedback, and use it to iterate on your solutions

    Design System & Consistency

    • Champion cohesion, consistency, and accessibility by delivering designs that promote our organization's experience strategy and design system usage
    • Apply design system standards consistently while contributing to its evolution based on user needs.
    • Connect multiple screens into cohesive flows and contribute minor updates to the evolution of the design system based on user needs.
    • Across all work apply Jobs-to-be-Done methodology and user-centered design principles, conducting customer interviews and usability tests and translating findings into design iterations.
    • Demonstrate a solid understanding of customer needs, core workflows, and key business goals, using this context to make informed design decisions with minimal guidance

    Mentorship & Growth

    • Continuously learn new design skills to improve overall design delivery, while building depth in one or two core areas
    • Coach team-level peers through their design decisions and share learnings with your immediate peers and the team
    • Nurture WorkWave's culture and principles within your team and the broader design practice
    • Participate in design critiques, in both presenting and providing constructive feedback that elevates team output
    • Stay current with design trends, tools, and methodologies, particularly those relevant to AI-powered products

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

    • 4 or more years of experience as a user experience/product designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
    • Proven experience successfully delivering product design initiatives that improved user outcomes or business metrics
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality digital products that delivered results and showcase the depth of your design skills
    • Proven experience clearly communicating design decisions and their impact on the customer
    • Solid capacity to communicate and present complex problems clearly to diverse audiences
    • Deep understanding of user-centered design processes and human-computer interaction principles
    • Demonstrated ability to evaluate the customer and business impact of your design decisions
    • Proficiency in modern design tools (Figma preferred) and design thinking methodologies
    • Proven ability to evaluate the customer and business impact of design decisions using both qualitative and quantitative research methods
    • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent professional experience in the design field
    • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying current with design trends and best practices

WHAT WOULD ALSO BE AWESOME:

    • Experience designing complex workflows for enterprise or SaaS products, particularly in B2B environments
    • Background in designing for service industry workflows or field service management
    • Experience with enterprise product design or financial services product design
    • Previous work on AI-powered features or data-driven product experiences
    • Experience working on complex problems at a systems/service level
    • Knowledge of Jobs-to-be-Done methodology and service design principles
    • Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
    • Experience with design systems and component-based design approaches
    • Experience mentoring junior designers or leading design initiatives
    • Background working in cross-functional product teams using agile methodologies
    • Experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders and executives
