Accountant

Job Summary:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational financial policies. The role involves preparing financial reports, monitoring expenditures, reconciling accounts, managing invoices, and supporting budgeting and auditing processes to ensure effective financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices and payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Monitor company expenses, revenues, and financial activities.
• Assist in budget preparation and financial planning.
• Ensure timely tax calculations, declarations, and payments in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions for auditing purposes.
• Support internal and external audits by providing relevant financial records.
• Monitor cash flow and assist in financial forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle financial information responsibly.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations is an advantage.
