DB2 DBA Consultant

We are looking for a Senior DBA - IBM Db2 (UDB)to provide end-to-end database operations support for enterprise-critical environments. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, security, and compliance of Db2 databases, along with hands-on responsibility for data masking and data archiving solutions (Optim). Experience withAWS RDSis a strong additional skill.

Responsibilities:

• Provide operational support for IBM Db2 UDB databases (Prod and NonProd).
• Perform Db2 installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and availability; proactively resolve issues.
• Manage backup, restore, recovery, and DR readiness (including HADR).
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive preventive improvements.
• Implement and support data masking solutions for sensitive data.
• Design and manage data archiving strategies aligned with retention policies.
• Ensure database security, access controls, and audit compliance.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts and maintain SOP/runbooks.
• Support AWS RDS environments for monitoring, performance, and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM Db2 UDB administration.
• Production DBA experience in large, high-availability environments.
• Solid understanding of performance tuning, HA/DR, and security.
• Experience with data masking and data archiving tools/concepts.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Working knowledge of AWS RDS (additional/desired).
• Scripting skills (Shell, Python, or similar).

Nice to Have:

• Experience in regulated environments (banking/financial services).
• Exposure to multiple database platforms.
• Cloud or database-related certifications.
