What's the role?
The AR Systems Engineer provides electrical, mechanical and refrigeration support for AR and Rx manufacturing systems across ZEISS and customer environments. The role combines AR system expertise with Polycold refrigeration servicing to ensure uptime, performance and safe operation. A key focus is building internal Polycold service capability while reducing reliance on external vendors

AR Systems - Technical Service & Field Engineering
- Provide remote and onsite technical support for AR / HC equipment
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical and process issues
- Perform preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance
- Install, commission, calibrate and validate equipment
- Interpret schematics and technical documentation
- Assess equipment performance and support improvements
- Deliver training to customer teams
Polycold / Refrigeration Service & Support
- Service and troubleshoot Polycold refrigeration systems
- Perform diagnostics including pressure analysis and leak detection
- Conduct evacuation, charging and refrigerant regassing
- Ensure compliance with refrigerant handling regulations
- Maintain contamination control and system cleanliness
- Support Level 1 service activities and procedures
- Ensure tools, spare parts and refrigerant availability
General Service Delivery
- Own technical issues through to resolution
- Maintain service reports and documentation
- Ensure compliance with ZEISS and customer safety standards
- Identify performance improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams
- Travel as required (50-80%)
- Support training and knowledge transfer
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide broader technical support as required
Equipment Used
- Electrical and mechanical service tools
- Refrigeration service equipment (gauges, vacuum pumps, charging systems)
- Diagnostic and measurement equipment
- Standard computing tools
Do you qualify?
- Degree or trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Refrigeration or equivalent experience
- Certification for safe handling of refrigerants and regassing
- 5 years servicing, troubleshooting & maintenance of refrigeration equipment in industrial environments.
- 2 years experience with Polycold systems preferred
- 2 years experience with AR coating systems preferred

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.
The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
