Zeiss is a German optics and optoelectronics group founded in Jena in 1846 that is owned by a foundation rather than by shareholders, which frees it to invest on very long horizons. Its most strategically important business supplies the optical systems inside extreme ultraviolet lithography machines, without which leading-edge semiconductor manufacturing would not be possible, and it also makes surgical and diagnostic ophthalmic equipment, spectacle lenses, industrial measurement systems, microscopes and camera optics. Headquartered in Oberkochen with a large site in Jena, the group employs tens of thousands of people and spends an unusually high share of revenue on research.

What’s the role?

Carl Zeiss X-ray Microscopy is seeking a highly skilled Cleanroom Manufacturing Technician to build precision ultra-high-vacuum components and subassemblies used in advanced X-ray source production. This role is ideal for candidates who take pride in meticulous workmanship, disciplined process execution, and hands-on technical problem solving in a Class 10K cleanroom environment. The technician will assemble, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and continuously improve high-precision vacuum, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies while following detailed procedures and cleanroom protocols. The position reports to the Production Line Manager and is assigned to swing shift.

Swing Shift: The first three months will be Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The schedule will then transition to the swing shift, Monday-Friday, 1:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m.

Location: Dublin, CA
