ELYZA is a Tokyo artificial intelligence company founded in 2018 out of the Matsuo Laboratory at the University of Tokyo. It develops Japanese large language models and deploys them for document processing, contact centres and public sector workloads. The company became a subsidiary of KDDI while continuing to release open Japanese models.
