Overview
Extreme Networks is an American networking company founded in 1996 that sells wired and wireless enterprise networking equipment and the cloud platform that manages it. Its position is deliberately that of the credible alternative to Cisco for organisations that want a single vendor without the price or complexity, and it has assembled much of its portfolio by buying networking businesses that larger companies no longer wanted, including assets from Enterasys, Avaya, Brocade and Zebra. Headquartered in Morrisville, North Carolina and listed on Nasdaq, it sells almost entirely through channel partners into education, healthcare, hospitality, stadiums and mid-market enterprises.
