Overview
Form Energy is an American energy storage company that develops and manufactures iron-air batteries able to discharge electricity for around 100 hours, using the reversible rusting of iron to store energy at low material cost. Founded in 2017, it builds its batteries at a factory in Weirton, West Virginia, runs research in Berkeley, California, and supplies multi-day storage systems to utilities to cover extended shortfalls in wind and solar output. The company is headquartered in Somerville, Massachusetts, United States.
