Idealab

Idealab is a technology incubator and startup studio that creates and funds new companies from its own ideas. It has launched well over a hundred businesses in internet services, clean energy, robotics and other technologies, including GoTo, later renamed Overture, which pioneered paid search advertising. The studio was founded in Pasadena, California in 1996 by entrepreneur Bill Gross and is one of the earliest technology incubators in the United States.
