Overview
The Open Home Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for privacy, user choice, and environmental sustainability in the smart home industry. Headquartered in Baar, Switzerland, the organization owns and governs over 250 open-source projects, standards, and libraries, most notably Home Assistant and ESPHome. By championing local device control and open connectivity standards, it works to protect consumers from vendor lock-in and safeguard their digital autonomy.
