Overview
Saronic Technologies is an American company founded in 2022 that builds autonomous surface vessels for the United States Navy and allied forces, on the argument that large crewed warships are too few and too expensive to be risked in contested waters. Its vessels range from small attritable craft to larger autonomous ships, and it develops both the hulls and the autonomy software rather than integrating third-party systems. Headquartered in Austin with a shipyard under development on the Gulf coast, it has raised very large rounds quickly, reflecting how urgently the American Navy wants uncrewed maritime capacity.
