Overview

Sea Limited is a Singaporean technology group founded in 2009 by Forrest Li, which began as the game publisher Garena and grew into the largest internet company in Southeast Asia. Its three businesses reinforce each other: Garena publishes and develops games including the enormously popular Free Fire, Shopee runs the region's leading e-commerce marketplace, and Monee provides payments, lending and digital financial services across the same footprint. Listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 2017 and long backed by Tencent, the group has expanded Shopee into Latin America, where Brazil has become one of its largest markets.
