Overview
SMEC is an engineering and development consultancy headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, delivering planning, design, supervision and project management for transport, water, energy, hydropower, ports, rail and urban infrastructure projects. Rooted in the Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme and active for about 75 years, it has been part of Singapore-based Surbana Jurong since 2016 and works from offices in more than 40 countries across Asia, the Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. It hires civil, structural, electrical and mechanical engineers, project inspectors for dams and tunnels, planning engineers, BIM coordinators, environmental managers and transport economists.
