Overview
Tekion is an American automotive software company founded in 2016 by a former Tesla chief information officer to replace the ageing dealer management systems car retailers run on. Its Automotive Retail Cloud handles the whole dealership in one system, covering sales, financing and insurance, parts, service scheduling and accounting, and it connects manufacturers, dealers and customers on shared data rather than through nightly file transfers. Headquartered in Pleasanton and privately held at a multi-billion dollar valuation, it competes with the long-established dealer software incumbents CDK and Reynolds and Reynolds.
