Overview
Xiaomi is a Chinese consumer electronics company founded in Beijing in 2010 by Lei Jun and seven co-founders, and one of the three largest smartphone makers in the world. It sells Xiaomi and Redmi handsets alongside a very broad connected-device ecosystem covering televisions, wearables, scooters, appliances and home sensors, built partly through investments in dozens of partner manufacturers. Since 2021 the company has added electric vehicles, launching the SU7 saloon and YU7 sport utility to unexpectedly strong demand, and it ties the whole portfolio together with its HyperOS operating system.
