Full Stack Developer (Senior) - Java, Angular & AI-Augmented Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer specialising in Java, Angular and AI-Augmented Software Engineering to join a dynamic technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining enterprise-level applications within an Agile and DevOps environment.

The role focuses on building secure, scalable, cloud-native applications while using AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery, productivity and code quality. The successful candidate will also contribute to application modernisation, automated deployment processes and the continuous improvement of enterprise quality reporting, analytics and governance solutions.

• Analyse, design, develop, test and maintain enterprise software applications.

• Develop and enhance full-stack solutions using Java and Angular.

• Use AI-assisted coding tools as part of standard software engineering practices.

• Apply enterprise AI context engineering principles and responsible AI practices where applicable.

• Design, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

• Develop secure, scalable and reliable cloud-native applications.

• Automate development, testing and release processes to improve efficiency.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issues.

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 DevOps support to maintain application availability.

• Plan and execute application upgrades, enhancements and modernisation initiatives.

• Apply secure coding practices and ensure applications are protected against cybersecurity threats.

• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams and provide technical guidance where required.

• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability and software quality.

Essential Skills and Experience

Technical Speciality: Java, Angular, Enterprise Application Development and AI-Augmented Engineering

• Minimum of 10 years' experience developing Java applications.

• Strong experience developing applications using Angular.

• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools, such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent.

• Understanding of context engineering principles for enterprise AI applications.

• Familiarity with AI evaluation, guardrails and responsible AI practices.

• Strong knowledge of secure coding practices.

• Programming languages: Java and TypeScript.

• Frontend technologies: Angular and JSF.

• Java application servers and frameworks: GlassFish, GlassFish Micro and Quarkus.

• Web servers: Apache and Nginx.

• CI/CD and DevOps tools: Git, Maven, Sonar, Jira, GitHub, GitHub Actions, build and deployment pipelines, and container registries.

• Cloud infrastructure experience, preferably Microsoft Azure.

• Database experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL and PL/SQL.

• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and AI orchestration frameworks.
