Job Overview :
We are looking for an experienced IBM FileNet Developer to design, develop, and support enterprise content management solutions.
In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise across the IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) suite - including Content Platform Engine (CPE), IBM Content Navigator (ICN), IBM Content Collector (ICC), and Content Search Services (CSS) - along with modern Java development frameworks like Spring Boot to build, extend, and optimize custom enterprise applications and plugins.
Key Responsibilities :
- Custom Development & Integration : Design and build scalable content management applications using Content Platform Engine (CPE) APIs (Java API, Web Services API) and custom IBM Content Navigator (ICN) plugins and APIs.
- Backend Development : Develop high-performance backend microservices and RESTful services utilizing Java and Spring Boot to integrate FileNet services with enterprise applications.
- Email & Document Ingestion : Configure, manage, and troubleshoot IBM Content Collector (ICC) for automated document and email archiving/ingestion pipelines.
- Full-Text Search Configuration : Implement, configure, and maintain IBM FileNet Content Search Services (CSS) to support robust full-text indexing and advanced search functionality across vast document repositories.
- System Diagnostics & Fixes : Diagnose, debug, and resolve issues related to document security, object store configurations, workflows, and search indexes.
- Upgrade & Maintenance : Assist in environment maintenance, patch deployments, performance tuning, and system upgrades across CPE, ICN, ICC, and CSS components.
- Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with business analysts, system architects, and operational teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical specs, and implement robust content management solutions.
Required Qualifications & Technical Skills :
Core IBM FileNet Experience :
- Hands-on expertise with Content Platform Engine (CPE) architecture, Object Stores, Document Classes, Choice Lists, and CPE APIs.
- Demonstrated experience developing custom IBM Content Navigator (ICN) plugins, features, user actions, and widgets using ICN APIs, JavaScript/Dojo, and Java.
- Direct experience configuring and maintaining IBM Content Collector (ICC) for automated archiving and data ingestion.
- Hands-on working knowledge of IBM Content Search Services (CSS) for full-text indexing, query optimization, and search administration.
Application Development Skills :
- Strong proficiency in Java and modern backend development frameworks, specifically Spring Boot.
- Experience building RESTful Web Services and microservices to interface with FileNet ECM repositories.
- Good understanding of Web technologies (JavaScript, Dojo/AMD, CSS, HTML5) used in ICN plugin customization.
Database & System Skills :
- Proficiency in SQL and database design supporting FileNet Object Stores (e.g., DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server).
- Familiarity with enterprise app servers (e.g., IBM WebSphere Application Server, WebLogic, or Tomcat).
Preferred Qualifications :
- IBM FileNet / ECM Certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Specialist - FileNet Content Manager).
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift), and Cloud-native deployments.
